At ZogCulture, we believe life is better with real personal connections, a caring community, and a sense of play. No one embodies our mission more so than our event facilitators.
Your facilitators are the reason why your event runs so smoothly and you can have a fun, stress-free opportunity to connect with your colleagues. Our Meet The Team series introduces you to some of our event facilitators so you can learn about their diverse backgrounds and unique skillsets.
This week, we're introducing you to Missy Dowse. In addition to being an event MC, Missy works behind the scenes as a materials admin and as a member of the production team. She sees your event from beginning to end!
How do you spend your time outside of Zog?
I'm an actor. And when I say actor, that means I'm also a writer, singer, teaching artist, producer, designer, mover, shaker, etc. To be an actor, you wear a lot of hats.
What has been a highlight of your career?
Wow. Hmm. That's tough. I think starring in my first national tour and my first appearance on TV. You hear a lot of nos in this business, and those felt like huge yeses.
Why do you like working for Zog?
First and foremost, I love the people I work with. Zog's mission is to help people connect through play at work, and we get to play at work all the time! It's a blast. I also love that I'm able to use my creativity and the skills I learned as an actor in my work at Zog.
When have you seen our mission at work?
I love being a Quizmaster for our events. I worked a trivia game where a notably shy participant knew the answer to a difficult question. When they got the answer correct everyone went nuts. It was great to see that outpouring of support and fun.
Any tips for maintaining connections in a virtual world?
Invest in understanding who people are outside of work. Ask thoughtful questions, show your pets or kids, play games, plan a Zog event. 😉
Anything fun you want the world to know?
I know this is cliché, but I really, really, really love my dogs. Also I pulled the sword out of the stone in Disney World when I was a kid, so I'm basically royalty.
