Mastering the Remote Office Holiday Party

The holiday season is right around the corner. If you're in a pinch and looking to host a virtual company holiday party, have no fear. We have some tips to make your gathering a success!

Ensure your holiday party is inclusive.

When hosting a virtual gathering for your colleagues, it's important to be mindful throughout the party planning process. Keep your virtual party festive but avoid relating it to any particular holiday. For example, rather than calling it a "Christmas Party," choose wording such as "Holiday Party" or "Virtual Mingle." When creating playlists, include songs such as Let it Snow or Walking in a Winter Wonderland, rather than White Christmas.

Be mindful of the timing of your event.

When picking a date and time, don't forget about your employees working in different time zones. If planning a gathering after work hours, are you considering working parents or those who are part-time staff members? Be open to hosting the event at a non-traditional time. (Even though this is a holiday party, electing to host the gathering in January might be an easier way to accommodate everyone's busy schedules.)

Create a gifting strategy.

What better way to go above and beyond for your employees than by saying thank you with a gift? Gift giving doesn't need to be extravagant to be meaningful. Whether sending your employees hot cocoa kits to their homes, writing handwritten notes expressing your gratitude, or giving the gift of a few additional hours off, the sentiment will not go unnoticed.

Choose a fun, engaging activity.

What better way to engage employees virtually than by playing a holiday game? Foster connection and cheer through one of ZogCulture's popular virtual holiday offerings. Whether your employees are virtual, hybrid, or in-person, our events transport participants beyond their typical day-to-day through immersive experiences. Cozy up with a glass of mulled wine or hot cocoa and get to know your co-workers through ZogCulture's Merry Mingling. Or, test your team's trivia knowledge on the Winter Olympics while completing hilarious photo and video challenges while playing The Winter Games. We have multiple options that are sure to please.
